Position Summary

Five Element Wellness Center is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing integrative healthcare team. Our practice combines acupuncture, functional and integrative medicine, manual therapy, IV therapy, regenerative medicine, and wellness services to provide exceptional patient care.

The Medical Assistant plays an essential role in supporting our providers by preparing patients for treatment, assisting with clinical procedures, maintaining exam rooms, documenting patient information, and ensuring the smooth flow of daily clinical operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about helping patients achieve optimal health and wellness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms prior to the start of each day by:
• Turning on treatment lamps
• Turning on towel warmers
• Preparing warm, damp towels
• Ensuring treatment tables are clean and stocked with fresh linens, blankets, pillows, and supplies
• Escort patients to treatment rooms in a timely and professional manner.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Document new symptoms, concerns, or complaints for the provider prior to treatment.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments as needed.
• Administer injections as directed by the provider and within scope of certification.
• Remove acupuncture needles as directed by the provider.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient scheduling and minimal wait times.

Patient Care & Treatment Room Maintenance

• Clean and disinfect treatment rooms after each patient following OSHA guidelines.
• Replace linens and prepare rooms for the next patient.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment.
• Ensure all treatment rooms remain fully stocked throughout the day.

Laundry & Facility Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, fold, and organize clinic laundry.
• Ensure towel warmers are emptied and turned off at the end of each day.
• Turn off treatment lamps and verify all rooms are secured before closing.

Team Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with physicians, acupuncturists, manual therapists, massage therapists, physical therapists, and administrative staff to provide exceptional patient care.
• Assist with training and onboarding new employees.
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and all clinic policies.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and professional work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required

• Current Medical Assistant Certification
• Current BLS/CPR Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience performing venipuncture
• Ability to administer injections within certification and state regulations
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Exceptional customer service and patient care skills
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Preferred

• Experience in integrative, functional medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic, orthopedic, pain management, or wellness practices
• Knowledge of insurance plans, authorizations, and referral requirements
• Familiarity with IV therapy and regenerative medicine procedures
