Our chamber is looking for a passionate, organized and detail oriented professional to add to our team. You will be tasked with overseeing the preparation and coordination of events for our membership and the general business community and serve as the main point of contact for potential and current chamber members.
The Membership and Events Manager is the face of the Chamber’s member experience — a friendly, energetic professional who ensures every interaction with our Chamber feels valuable and engaging. This role combines event coordination, member relations, and community storytelling to create meaningful connections and memorable experiences.
Working closely with the Executive Director and Manager, this person helps bring our Chamber’s mission to life by ensuring our events run smoothly, our members feel appreciated, and our community stories are captured and shared.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, people-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You’ll manage office operations, coordinate the planning and execution of events, and assist with membership recruitment and retention. You’ll also support the Chamber’s marketing efforts by capturing photos and videos at events and providing content for marketing use.
This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to represent the Chamber professionally in person and online.
Position Description
- Manages daily operations of an organized office space
- Support all chamber events in planning and logistics
- Support the Chamber’s marketing initiatives with content creation assistance
- Serve as the main point of assistance for member services
- Assist Executive Director and ED’s Assistant with special projects and outreach
- All other team support tasks as assigned
Work Responsibilities
- Chamber Office
- Answer incoming phone calls from members
- Taking meeting minutes and notes during committee meetings when needed
- Review website content periodically to ensure event and membership information remains accurate
- Completing tasks delegated for finance and operation procedures
- Filing and maintaining records in chamber’s cloud drives
- Events
- Manage event logistics, planning timelines, and execution for Chamber programs and signature events
- Coordinate with venues, vendors, sponsors, and committees to ensure a professional and positive experience
- Capture event photos, video clips, and member testimonials for use in Chamber marketing. Collaborate with internal marketing to identify moments, stories, and visuals that showcase member value and community impact
- Event Support
- Completing preparation tasks during event lead-up
- Attending events as needed
- Welcoming attendees and supporting other staff
- Assisting with setup and breakdown
- Confidently stepping into any role during events including helping to lead from the stage or solving issues on the fly
- Sending reminders and follow-up communications to attendees, sponsors, vendors, venue, etc
- Membership
- Serve as a relationship manager for Chamber members, maintaining proactive and consistent communication
- Maintaining integrity of membership data by ensuring data is updated
- Field incoming calls from prospective members and enter leads into the sales funnel
- Onboard new members with a welcoming orientation experience; Answer questions about membership benefits and how to use the chamber
- Promote member involvement through personal invitations to events and committee participation
- Conduct periodic member check-ins to gather feedback and identify engagement opportunities
- Build and maintain positive relationships with members, trustees, and board leaders

Requirements
- College degree or equivalent in a relevant field (business, communications, hospitality, marketing, etc)
- English language proficiency
- Microsoft Office and Google Workspace proficiency
- Reliable means of transportation to office and events
- Professional phone and conversation skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds safely
Additional Preferences
- Spanish and/or Creole language proficiency
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds safely
- Familiarity with Canva and/or Constant Contact
